Our portfolio company Fabric8Labs has raised $50M in a new funding round to expand its US-based advanced manufacturing facilities, targeting a capacity increase to over 20 million components per year.
Fabric8Labs has pioneered the most advanced additive metal manufacturing platform. Its room-temperature 3D printing technology enables the production of complex, dense metal parts without post-processing. It is currently being deployed in two high-growth application areas:
Thermal management for AI data centers and power electronics
Antennas for RF wireless communication and aerospace
At imec.xpand, we’re proud to have been early believers in Fabric8Labs’ potential. We led the seed round in 2018, when the company was little more than two founders with an idea and a proof of concept. Since then, Fabric8Labs has made remarkable progress, continuously improving its process and establishing a pilot line. From that pilot line, the company today delivers increasing volumes of products and samples in customer evaluation projects. The new US facilities will scale production capacity to over 20 million components per year to meet the growing demand.
